Keeping you updated, Ryan seems as though he is improving with both conditions I told you about yesterday. The antibiotic drops for the eyes has cleared them right up. He’ll need to continue with the full course, but I wouldn’t think he’s uncomfortable now. The shingles look slightly improved too. They seemed to have flared yesterday morning, but improved throughout the day. By that, I mean, the rash is not as “angry” looking. It still has the raised, blister-filled nodules but it’s looking like they might start crusting over in a day or two.ย
Ryan seems comfortable too. He had a restful night where his pulse, blood pressure, and body language indicates no pain or irritation.
This latest trial he was going through was really bothering me. The old one-two punch. Kick a man when he’s down (you know, like Vantrease did to Ryan). Again, I just couldn’t sleep and was up for the day at one o’clock. I spent the night kicking around an event that I’d like to hold this summer. But this is not for Ryan.
It is for you.
Here’s my idea. It would take place in northern Virginia on a Saturday this summer. I’d like to find an open area, like a field (with restroom availability somehow), and have a combination pig roast and beer-/wine-fest. I supply, prepare, roast the pig and people could bring their favorite six-pack or bottle to put into the “community bar” for everyone to enjoy. Bring your own lawn chair or blanket, because this will be comfortably informal! No shoes, no shirts (ladies!), no problem… as the song goes. I’ll find a sound system , maybe even karaoke compatible in case the fun really cranks up. Come-and-go as you please. Mingle, or soak in the sun with a cold drink in a spot to yourself. No pressure is the key here. An inexpensive day to be acknowledge and thanked, by and for, me and Team Diviney. It’ll be a day to relax. Period.
Cornhole, anyone? I’m also quite adept at Flip Cup and Beer Pong. Fair warning…
A slip-and-slide might be interesting, aye? The possibilities are limitless. Perhaps a waiver is in order here. I hope so!
If you’re from out-of-town, this might be a good time to take a tour Washington, D.C. as an excuse — or added reason —- to come.
Anyhow, it’s something I’ve been thinking about as far back as two summers ago. It just wasn’t realistic at the time. Still, I never let it out of my mind for very long. ย I’m thinking it might be different this year. Well… I’m hoping it might be. I expect to take Ryan to it. At least for a little bit. I’d love for everyone to meet him!
Does this sound like something you’d enjoy? Would you come?

I would love to attend but would need overnight accommodations. Can we camp at the location or can you recommend lodging for the night? This would be an awesome weekend road trip!

I can ask here at Potomac Green if you can use the back porch, the bathrooms and the lawn for a party. I know they rent the place out to people who live here (and even if I don’t live here I can find someone) but I don’t know if they charge and I don’t know how the alcohol permit thing works. I can ask if you want.

Hey Ken! Just found out about this last night. I’ve been out of town for several days and was not online at all. When I came home I went to prayer group and they filled me in! What a great idea. So…..why don’t we hold a 50/50 raffle there it’s a win-win! 50% of the raffle goes to Ryan’s SNT, 50% to the winner…. ๐

Ken, this is an amazing idea. I know tons of folks that would love to attend something like this! I bet lots of folks have their thinking caps on and are generating lots of ideas.

What the heck is corn hole??!!!
Ryan's Rally LLC says
It’s a lawn game, common at family reunions and tailgating parties. Opposing players toss corn-filled bags for points.

Sounds like an event for fun to be had by all…I wonder if there is somebody that has private property/acreage to host. The possibilities are limitless:0)

Awesome idea! Count me in, and wouldn’t you know it we have a beer pong table with WV painted on it. We have corn hole set, included with that is a shade canopy for any future contestants to sit and strategize. Can’t wait to take you on for corn hole, be warned, I’m a lefty and played softball in high school, just a few years ago!! Just an FYI, tried to post yesterday, but for somereason my computer would not let me. glad the shingles is healing. I had it once, but a mild unpainful case.
Ryan's Rally LLC says
The posting problem was on my end. Glad I got that fixed.
Let’s go a best of three, that way it’ll be a convincing loss for you ๐

I’m glad Ryan is comfortable. Shingles can be so painful. He’s been through enough already. Looking forward to more information about your Summer Fun Day. I would certainly consider making the trip to meet not only Ryan, but your entire family. Have a good day and stay warm.
