We Got This!

"I tell him I tried. I tried to keep memory alive; I tried to fight those who would forget. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. There is so much injustice & suffering crying out for our attention. We must take sides. We must interfere. -E.W.

A Panorama of Ryan’s Room

November 1, 2012 by Ryan's Rally LLC 13 Comments

Ryan’s room is a combination bedroom and hospital room. We try to make it homey, but there’s just no hiding all the equipment. Not to say we haven’t tried. For the most part, I feel we did a fine job of balancing it. So, I thought people might enjoy seeing how we have Ryan’s room set-up. It also allowed me a legitimate reason to use the panoramic feature on my iPhone. To do this, what I did was stand in the doorway to his room and shot a ninety-degree sweep of his room.

Panorama of Ryan’s Room.

We decorated it in a  West Virginia University theme. Starting on the left is a WVU clock and Ryan’s 4.0 GPA President’s List certificate below it. It eventually ends with a quilt given by a Morgantown church that hangs above the bed Sue or I sleep in. In fact, when Sue sleeps there most every other night, I go to the sectional couch outside his room.

Just off Ryan’s room is the therapy area that is done up in Redskins’ colors. Please, I know the team sucks — and has for decades — so just hold you obvious, but valid, insults. The Redskins have been kind to Ryan and that’s all that really matters to me.

Very nice room. I like the big window next to his bed and the plants.

    I walk into this room
Oh, all eyes on me now
But I do not know the people inside
They look straight through me, these eyes
Seeking more wisdom than I have to give away
    Realize, realize what you are…

I love this posts. As always, it made me very emotional. I love that his room is decorated in the WV theme. Awesome 4.0 accomplishment to be super proud of too. My family has always been Oakland Raider fans. We feel your pain of not always being with the “winning” team, but can relate to your dedication!!! Thanks for sharing another look into Ryan’s life.

Thanks for the picture, Ken. You and Sue really have done a wonderful job making Ryan’s room cozy. It actually looks like a beautiful room. Is the sectional comfortable to sleep on? I hope it’s not hurting your back. I’m with you on the Skins’– they may be off their game (again), but one thing they consistently do well is stayed connected with people in the community. For that reason, I, too, remain a dedicated fan.

Praying you guys have a good day, and sending you my love as always.
