Word is coming back to me that this year’s second annual De-Clutter for the Divineys event, happening next Saturday (September 29th), should be enormous. We are so grateful for the generosity of Delhaize America, parent company of Food Lion, for allowing us to use their space. This means the event can be held rain or shine, kicking-off at eight o’clock in the morning.
One person told me it is turning into a flea market. People are donating items by the carloads, filling up the vacant grocery store where it will be held. There’s even two days still left for people to bring more! I love the people from northern Virginia and the D.C. metro area! What a community!
Which reminds me, the last two days to drop-off items are today and tomorrow between 10am and 4pm. The donation site is the same as the event location; the vacant Bloom Store at the intersection of Belmont Ridge Rd. & Portsmouth Blvd., Ashburn,VA 20147. Anyone interested in making a corporate donation, donating a raffle prize, or requesting a special drop-off time can contact the event coordinator via declutter4ryan@gmail.com.
Can’t make it but want to give financially? You can do this in two ways. First, through your credit card at the PayPal link on the righthand sidebar of this page (above the Blue Moon ad) or by mailing it to Ryan Diviney Special Needs Trust, 21092 Carthagena Ct., Ashburn, VA 20147 (*Payable to Ryan Diviney SNT). Please indicate “De-Clutter” in the note/memo field.
This is a good time to remind people to view a post from earlier this wee, Keeping Ryan Relevant: So Many Ways. Sure, contributions always help… a lot, but there are other ways too that don’t involve money. Ways that keep memory alive. Simple things to make sure Ryan remains relevant.
What I love about this event is it is more than just a yard sale. It’s a MEGA yard sale where items will be arranged in aisles and departments. Beyond this, outside the store will be all types of fun activities. It’s a festival! The parking lot will be hopping with all kinds of things to do. Activities include plenty for the children (face painting, balloon animals, entertainment), food, raffles, and music.
Again, thank you so much for helping take care of my son. I say this often and will never stop. There’s no way it could be done without you and your support means everything to us.

It is looking great down at the Mega Sale site. Also, next Saturday at the event we will have a variety of food to feed the shoppers and families:
-Donuts and coffee for sale the early birds
-a whopping BAKE SALE full of yummy goodies to eat on site or take home
– then for starting at 10:30, LEDOs PIZZA, right next door to the sale, is working as our food sponsor. They are donating 20% of sales ALL DAY to Ryan, as well as 15% of all monies this week. LEDOs rocks!
So come hungry shoppers…we will keep you happy.

Good morning, Ken!! Wow, you are absolutely right when you used the term “MEGA” to describe this yardsale!! I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the amount, variety and quality of items there!!!
To all Team Diviney members in Loudoun County and beyond — please spread the word to your neighbors, friends, relatives and community –this is one yardsale folks won’t want to miss!!! I saw everything from artwork to furniture, from linens to electronics — you name it, Declutter for Divineys Mega Yardsale probably has it!!
It’s always so uplifting and fills my spirit with hope when I see community members rise to the occasion the way the Declutter for Diviney volunteers are doing — a big thank you to each and every person who is donating, working, sponsoring and supporting this event. It takes a tremendous amount of time, energy and commitment to make an event of this magnitude work.
This is Team Diviney working at its best!!! Thank you!!!!
Ken, I hope today is a peaceful and positive one for you and your family. Sending hugs & love, prayers and hope today and every day. We’re still here, and we’re not going anywhere…ever.
