We Got This!

"I tell him I tried. I tried to keep memory alive; I tried to fight those who would forget. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. There is so much injustice & suffering crying out for our attention. We must take sides. We must interfere. -E.W.

Kari Coming Home! IBRF Call this Morning.

April 21, 2011 by Ryan's Rally LLC 9 Comments

A Pleasant Surprise

We knew Kari was coming home this weekend. I’m beside myself with anticipation. In fact, I was dreaming about it last night. But, the good news is she’ll be home a day earlier than expected… TODAY! Thank goodness it will be a busy morning, making time go by faster.

A Busy Morning

Sometimes everything seems to happen at the same time. This is the case this morning. The two biggest events are the IBRF conference call and the washing machine is getting repaired (again). We had it repaired in January for a faulty circuit board, and the exact same part failed again. We love this washing machine, so it’s definitely worth the hassle. We hope this will be the final service call.

Ryan has Uncomfortable Night

It seems the pollen is causing Ryan some discomfort. He was coughing throughout the night. I know he will begin feeling better when I get him up for the day and plan on doing so before 6:00 AM.

Sue bought an air purifier the other day. I’ve been leaving the central HVAC fan running non-stop, to filter the air. I am diligent about keeping the main level free of dust (while not stirring it up as I clean). I am keeping his mouth moist (mainly with sips of seltzer and misting mouth moisturizer). Still, he’s struggling. I know he feels a tickle in the back of his throat and it’s driving him crazy. If anyone knows of other tricks that might help him, please let me know.

Have had allergies all my life and I’ve always felt much better when I put a cool damp washcloth over my eyes (soothes itching and grittiness) and/or mouth. Low tech but it’s comforting.

Gary Williams has offered to provide an air quality measuring device. The air will be tested and improvements to the HVAC will follow.

    THANKS GARY!!!!!

Chloraseptic is great just keep in mind that it numbs whatever it touches ( mouth and throat) . I would hate to see it cause him any choking if he tries to drink to quickly after taking it.

The pollen is wreaking havoc with a lot of folks right now Once that tickle in the throat starts, it takes on a life of its own. I know there are a few folks on this blog who deal with allergies — anyone care to comment? Good luck with the conference call, I know it will be very productive. Praying for Ryan’s congestion to go away and that the air purifier will help him. Kari, sweetie, welcome home!!! Hope you have a wonderful visit with your family, before you know it, you’ll be home for the summer — yay!!! <3

I’m not sure if you’re able to use this or not – but when I get that allergy tickle, and my son is able to use this as well – we will use Chloraseptic spray…and it works really well. Best wishes for a wonderful day today! Darlene

Do you have the special air filters for allergy’s on your furnace? They filter at a higher rate. I am going to Home Depot this afternoon, so if you need them, I can pick them up, just email me your filter sizes and the number you need. Also, check your intake air filters. I hope Ryan feels more comfortable, did her suffer from allergies before? Have a great time with Kari, hope to see you guys at the Buffalo Wing Gactory Event on Saturday, if everyone reading could get the word out, that would be great…..

I see we are both up bright and early! How exciting — Kari is coming home early to spend an extra day with you!
I know you will get Ryan checked out if his chest sounds congested. I will be hoping and praying that it is as you say, only the pollen. Does he usually have trouble in the spring, like so many of us? Hope your day goes well. Still here with hope, faith and love.
