Girls Home Safely
Sue and Kari made it home, safe and sound, last night. What a relief! Sue told me it was a rough trip. They were in rain and fog for a significant portion. Everyone was exhausted. Sue and Kari from the drive and myself from 3 days of non-stop care. I passed out within minutes of their arrival and slept for four hours. Kari went upstairs and took a long, relaxing bath. Sue went into the bed next to Ryan’s and contended with a killer headache.
Sue resisted fiercely, but I finally convinced her to go to bed. I’m willing to bet she was asleep before her head hit the pillow. Kari came down to keep me company. She relaxed next to me on the bed as we watched some late-night television. It wasn’t long before I was out again.
Ryan Closes Eyes
It happened again yesterday. Ryan closed his eyes (nearly) completely. He kept them closed for at least an hour. Then, when I had to brush his teeth, they opened. I’m taking this as a positive sign. At the very least, it is giving his eyes a break. I just wish I knew for sure that he was having sleep/wake cycles. I wonder if he dreams…
This was the third time I observed his eyes shut for an extended period of time. My personal philosophy is “three times makes a pattern”. You know, just like three of anything makes a collection. Anyhow, I believe I’ll start documenting this to see if I can tie it to something specific.
Blog on iPad
If you have the iPad, you should take a look at how nicely this blog is presented on it. I’d like to take the credit, but I had nothing at all to do with it. It was a free upgrade from WordPress (this blog’s platform). It’s formatted in a magazine-style layout. Very nice! To me, this is the best way to read it. Everything is “touch controlled”.
Sounds good. I hope you all have a peaceful night together with lots of sleep.
Ken,
I’m so pleased that the ladies are home safe and sound (though I wish Sue wasn’t battling that headache!). I’m also thrilled to hear of Ryan’s eyes closing again! I think Kari’s presence is having a calming effect on him. 🙂 Just wondering, are you still doing they HBOT every day? Maybe like Will said, his eye muscles are coming around? I remember you posting something about more flexibility when he was doing the HBOT treatment…
Praying for another great day!
Love,
carla

I’m praising the Lord left and right today for these signs!! More and more coming I’m sure!! Praying that each of you will get the rest you need. Somehow, even in the rain, I could feel a positive spirit moving today for Ryan. Ken, I hope you have a smooth day, and that you and Kari enjoy your time together. What a sweetheart she is. I hope Sue’s headache is gone and that she has a good day too. Keep us posted!! Love & prayers, Paula
Happy to know that Sue and Kari arrived home safely. Hope you make new discoveries about Ryan’s continued progress every day. Still here.
I know you are so happy to have the ladies home!! I hope Sue got a good night’s rest and I’m confident Kari will be sleeping in this a.m. ; ) Lucky girl. lol. Enjoy every second of having that sweet girl home.
Glad to hear the eyes shut again, I hope his eyes heal up and continue to get a “break” and that you both have a nice quiet, uneventful (of course, unless it’s a good event) day.
XOXOXOXOXO
I bet we have some eye muscle responses. I pray for that and his recovery.
