It makes me really happy to share the news that Ryan’s Rally was selected for the Not Your Average (Kitchen & Bar) Cause program. They chose us because they believe in its value to the community and want to give to its success. Ryan’s Rally Fundraiser is TODAY, Wednesday, December 17th, 2014 at the Lansdowne/Leesburg location.
Here’s how the fundraising works:
- They set aside an amount equal to 15% of all purchases made by Ryan’s Rally supporters at Not Your Average Joe’s in Lansdowne.
- Ryan’s Rally supporters identify themselves to servers with Not Your Average Cause certificates (Attached is the certificate which you can make copies of and distribute to our supporters). They do not allow this certificate to be distributed on-site at the restaurant, make sure to print it out… or see me if you’re arriving after I get there.
- You can certainly order from take-out as well!
- Not Your Average Joe’s will write a check to Ryan’s Rally for 15% of all purchases made by supporters on that day.
If you have questions or need help, please don’t hesitate to email Leslie Barkley. Everyone at Not Your Average Joe’s Lansdowne wants the event to be a big success. Here is the contact information: Leslie Barkley, 19307 Promenade Drive, Leesburg, VA 20176, 571-333-5637, lbarkley@nyajoes.com.
Since I’m confident our supporters will show up in droves, I suggest you make reservations. That way we can make sure they’re appropriately staffed to give the V.I.P. service. There’s always the bar area open without reservations.

I am planning on getting to the event around 7:00PM 5:30PM, but hope to arrive even earlier if I can get Ryan squared away with coverage.

For those who might have missed it, sadly, Sue’s dad — a decorated Navy Aviation veteran and loyal family man — passed away this past Sunday at the age of 83. I posted his obituary to the Ryan’s Rally Facebook page.

Many of the meat analogues are fine, either as meat replacements or as unique foods on their own. However, when a 1 pound 4 pack of meatless burgers costs half again as much as the equivalent amount of ground hamburger, economics is going to win out, unless your wallet can stand it.TheMadLibrarianIfirosp: Seasonal Martian celebration

The American Heritage Dictionary is good for etymologies — traces each word all the way back to its Proto-Indo-European (or occasionally Semitic) roots, when known; and then has indexes of those roots. I find that useful for my own purposes. Otherwise, like you, I vote straight-ticket Oxford.

Anything liquid tight that will not pop open. Even with a good conaitner I would still double bag with zip lock as well though. If oil leaks it gets everywhere, and is impossible to get out of leather or fabric. With all the new flying regulations lots of drug stores sell small 4 oz liquid tight bottles for carry on luggage. Start there.

I rarely look at the Facebook so I am glad you posted about Sue’s father. I am so sorry about his passing. I met him at the hospital in Morgantown with his wife. What a gentleman!. I am sure he will be missed by his family. I will post this fundraiser information on Facebook. I don’t have many friends, mostly family, but I do have some cousins in the Washington,DC area. Ifthey can’t make it, they can pass it on to their friends living over there.

I really wish I was going to be able to go! Sadly, I will be working that day and it is a 4 hour drive 🙁 I will however, be having my friends from Virginia attending. I’ve already told them and they agreed to go for me. I will also be sending a donation! Sending tons of love and prayers!

Doubtful that we can make this one, but donation on the way for Ryan’s Special Needs Trust.

This would be a good time for out of town people to consider making a donation to Ryan’s Rally equal to the cost of a meal, or 15% of a typical meal out! I will be doing that if I can’t make it that day.
