We Got This!

"I tell him I tried. I tried to keep memory alive; I tried to fight those who would forget. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. There is so much injustice & suffering crying out for our attention. We must take sides. We must interfere. -E.W.

Austin Vantrease is just another Joran van der Sloot. Gets away with a crime and will be able to commit another. The SICKEST part of this whole situation is Austin’s lack of remorse and responsibility for Ryan. It’s so disgusting to me. Plus his Family’s lack of care and concern for the Diviney family. They should all be out in public begging for forgiveness and finding ways to help!! Not contributing to the heartbreak.

Hey Austin, Time to start paying your court ordered restitution. The Divineys have been waiting. Question, if Austin doesn’t start to pay it back as soon as he is released , can he be held in contempt of court ?

I just dont understand how his family can justify what he did. whether he was a ‘good kid’ before this or not. Fact remains that he hurt an innocent person in a split second, stupid decision. Just because the level of damage he caused wasn’t expected, that doesn’t mean it was an accident and should go unpunished. And they released him back into society with these delusional people as his support system! I could NEVER make excuses for someone like that….family or not. they should be ashamed of themselves. 4 years would never be enough for what he did to Ryan. They want austin back for vacation? Why? why should he get his life back when Ryan hasnt gotten his? Why should austin’s hell on earth end, when yours hasnt? It’s selfish of them to think they deserve to have him back……Sorry for the rant, but Im just so upset. I am so sorry to all of you!

I am shocked that your prison system could do this. Hopefully he will screw up while on supervision and parole. Like to see how long he keeps a job before he has to start paying you back financially. I wonder if he will be even able to find a job which should land him back into prison.

I mean how on Gods green earth did he get a max of 10 yrs and not serve even half of that? I just can’t believe it! I think he should have to stay in until restitution is payed and Ryan wakes up. Guarantee his family would be forking over the money then…they are such enablers making pitiful excuses for their monster of a son. I’m so angry I could scream. I’m so sorry Ken. ๐Ÿ™

I am so shocked and saddened by this. I really did not expect him to get out. I guess I just didn’t want him to get out. He should be kept away from society and those he loves like Ryan was taken away. You and your family are just surviving and doing what has to be done and what should be done when it comes to taking care of and loving your children. You do all that you do for your son and your family. It may not mean much but with all of the bad things happening in the world and the cruel heartless people, you make me want to be a better daughter, sister, wife, and person. You and your family are always in my thoughts and prayers, but I know you will get through this time like you have gotten through everything else that has happened the last few years. God bless.

Unbelievable! So sorry to hear this news. Your family will never get to live a “normal” life because of this man and he shouldn’t have that privilege either. As a stranger who has never met your family, I still know that you and your family will handle this the same way you have the entire time—with grace and doing what you have to do to get through each day. Thoughts will be with you as you continue your journey with your son. The world that has read about Ryan and followed his story love him like he is a part of each person’s family. Hang in there! Love sent to your family!

I’m stunned. Vantrease should not be allowed to return to his “normal” life until Ryan can return to his. Why did the parole board think Vantrease should be unleashed on the world? If he is capable of human feelings, I hope he is tormented by what he did to Ryan for the rest of his natural life. Ugh.

I don’t know you, but my prayers have been with you and your family for four years. By God’s grace, my prayers will continue as long as you need them.

Ken, Ryan & family. I am so sorry. Many of us had prayed for justice. But hey–these punks only beat Ryan, left him disabled for life. If they’d committed a drug crime–7th degree possession of a controlled substance, e.g., or even God help us, had raped Ryan, they would’ve been sent up for life. We saw a case locally where a young man killed 2 young people, left 2 others critically injured driving while both drunk 2x legal limit and high. He got 5 years, out in 3. The DA involved is a crusader against “sex crimes.” That means long prison terms, lifetime supervision. Maybe, when these thugs critically injure or, God help us, kill someone else, they’ll get real prison time. Or, as I said, they are arrested for a drug or sex offense….

God be with you & your family. GOD will render justice in the next world. Ryan will be made whole in Christ and these thugs will be consigned to the depth of Hades.

    PK & Tim
