We Got This!

"I tell him I tried. I tried to keep memory alive; I tried to fight those who would forget. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. There is so much injustice & suffering crying out for our attention. We must take sides. We must interfere. -E.W.

Kari, Thank You

January 28, 2012 by Ryan's Rally LLC 11 Comments

Yesterday, in the midst of the crisis, I received a text from my daughter that helped me cope more than Kari will ever know. Like Ryan, I admire her. I keep returning to read this text as i feel the fear or sadness building. She seems to always sense how I am and what I’m feeling. It’s a connection that I can’t explain.

I want to share what she said. It reminded me that we are doing all we can by both our children. I just wish it didn’t involve the despair and pain.

Yep, you and Sue have a couple of amazing kids. What a blessing! And we know that Ryan appreciates you as the best parents in the world every bit as much as Kari does. Families like yours are rare — maybe that’s why you are so precious to all of us. Feel the love 🙂

Kari sounds exactly like my daughter years ago. It must be daughters!! My daughter would get so worried she would jump in the car and drive all the way home from WVU. Since at that time, I was having a lot of issues, we just got where we would not tell her Mom was in the hospital as she worried too much.

Ken, this reminds me of the wonderful relationship I had with my daddy. He’s been watching me from heaven for almost 25 years. Every day I treasure him more & more. Keri & you and me & my dad are the lucky ones. The Dads and daughters who don’t share this are so missing out. Love you all!!!

Your daughter is a beautiful young woman…inside and out…so poised, generous and loving. Ken and Sue, you are doing exceptional things for your children…such wonderful parents you are. I am often in awe. Stay strong. We are with you in spirit every step of the way and always praying most especially for Ryan and his healing. Love to all of you. Peggie

You did raise your children well. Kari’s words will strengthen and encourage you.

I like her attitude of “let’s make this positive”. That’s a winner in life, right there!

Continuing to hold you all in our thoughts and prayers.
Praying that this time in the hospital will provide you with the additional medical attention that Ryan needed for the UTI.
