I just finish giving Ryan a nebulizer treatment and a deep suction session. There are two distinctive things I check when doing this: 1) the color of the mucus, and 2) any detectable foul odor. Although I did capture a fair amount of mucus it was absent of both. A good sign, indeed. It’s another indication that Ryan is either fighting a viral respiratory infection or a bacterial infection that we caught extremely early on.Dr. Rodriguez’s office sent me a text saying the CBC (Complete Blood Count) blood test was sent to the lab around 9:30 AM. That was fast! Within a half-hour of leaving our house. They will call me as soon as the results are electronically transmitted back to their office.
Anyhow, a CBC is the best test going to determine overall health. It can easily see if a person has an infection. The only glitch is it cannot usually identify what the infection is.

Ken,
I don’t know why you keep saying “we” caught this early. YOU caught it early with your diligent and loving care for Ryan. You’re truly Dr. Dad…SH
