We Got This!

"I tell him I tried. I tried to keep memory alive; I tried to fight those who would forget. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. There is so much injustice & suffering crying out for our attention. We must take sides. We must interfere. -E.W.

Listen Up, Ladies

February 18, 2011 by Ryan's Rally LLC 13 Comments

Alrighty then, with spring just around the corner and all you lovely ladies getting ready to wear sandals, open-toed shoes, and flip-flops, I have a beauty hint for you. Vinegar!

Vinegar Soak

For the sake of all us men, please listen!

About once a month or so we give Ryan’s feet a vinegar soak. One part vinegar to 3 parts water. He keeps his feet submerged (or wrapped in saturated towels) for 30 minutes. When we bring his feet out, we simple scrub them with a damp washcloth and then a dry one. Presto! His feet are pristine. All the dry skin just comes right off. No joke, it really works. Occasionally, we do his hands too. Word is it works on elbows too, but I have no firsthand knowledge.

You can also clean your fruits and vegetables with the same ratio, but care should be taken to not do both with the same mixture.

So, put away all those expensive foot care products and buy yourself a jug of white vinegar. And for Pete’s sake, pick a subtle nail polish. Cobalt blue just makes it look like you’re oxygen deprived.

Now, I know I’m not the one who should be giving beauty advice. What, with my perpetual five-o’clock shadow and unkempt hair.  But, I don’t have to look at myself. Something I avoid at all costs…

My mother’s been telling me for years that vinegar has many amazing uses — I guess it’s true! Ryan is so blessed to have you taking such good care him (better than most of us ladies take care of ourselves), right down to his silky soft feet 🙂

THANKS KEN, pedicure at Evelyn’s tonight. This will fly around the island in a day( of course there are only 70 of us this time of year)……. well maybe less Winter Break starts today. But this may be the hot new tip for all the girls for their Winter Break.
I don’t know what we’d do without the sage beauty advice and it keeps my day going. LOL, Sue couldn’t live without you. I hope she’s getting a pedicure tonight, practice nail painting until Sue gets home.

OMG! Who would’ve thought!! Beats the heck out of a pumice stone, I’ll betcha! With all the information and advice you get from us (and I’m guilty), you could have an advice column (Post — take note!), beauty and otherwise! Don’t want all these helpful hints to go to waste! Isn’t this how Heloise got started? And she doesn’t have nearly the sense of humor that you have, Ken! Ryan looks like he is enjoying his foot bath.
Hmmmm, I’m thinking one of those whirlpool foot baths with vinegar would be good for his circulation. I’ll bet someone has one they don’t use to donate — didn’t all we gals get one a few years ago along with the hot wax for hands (LOL already donated mine). How about it folks? I have heard that they are marvelous, just take the time — and who has that these days. Ken, you are a treasure — lucky Sue!! And us — lucky us!! Still here.

    Hey Ken
Thanks for the tip, I was just looking at my feet and thinking there is no way these trotters can be seen in public without some much needed help! I’m going to try it out this morning! Cheers!

Will it work on feet that have not been attended to for several months, lets say since last summer, maybe August???

LOL Ken! Is there no end to your talents?? I have never heard of this, but am definitely going to try it this weekend. I also have a thing about ugly feet, gross, yuk!! I bet Sue *loves* your 5 o’clock shadow and unkempt hair!! Oh, did I just say that?! Thank you for the picture of Ryan — Lord, please bless and heal this precious young man, and surround Kari, Sue and Ken with love and peace.
