I hope this is not just wishful thinking, but I feel Ryan has put together a string of good days. He seems much more at ease, with infrequent signs of discomfort. His nights are equally as uneventful.
Ryan’s body temperature has moved back to a more normal baseline. Since the beating he has been running a little cold, but was subject to wild temperature swings. These swings came on without notice and took hours to resolve. Lately, he is staying fairly stable.
Likewise, his pulse is normalizing. He generally is running in the upper-60’s or low seventies. Many might recall he use to sustain a heart rate around 120. In conjunction, his blood pressure is solid, with the systolic usually below 120. This, to me, is a clear indication that he is suffering less. At least, I hope so.
The days of moaning in agony are fewer and further between. His body tone is noticeably less rigid. His face appears relaxed. He no seldom winces in pain, causing his jaw to lock open.
He looks more like my son.

This is awesome, awesome news. Just the fact that Ryan looks more like your Son must be such a comfort for everyone. I’m so happy to hear that vital signs have stabilized. I love that you continue to share Ryan with all of us. We are all truly with you if not in person, certainly in spirit and prayer. You make a lot of people happy with your positive updates and I look forward to more and more progress. Thank you Ken, Sue and Kari for letting us be part of your family. Continuing to pray!! Always

Heartwarming news for our dear Ryan! Ken, I have no doubt God is working His miracle. As I’ve said so many times before, His timing isn’t our own (God can I nudge it along, pretty please??) but He is refining Ryan, just like in the Bible Verse from Malachi 3:3: “He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.” Yes, in good ol’ layman’s terms, God is spitting/polishing until he shines!!!! And what a day that will be, my friend!
It’s at times like these that we must remember: Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible, and receives the impossible. 🙂 Go God!!! Go Ryan!!!
Sending love and hugs to you all,
carla

This is great news! But of course Ryan is doing better. All the efforts that you and Sue have put forward are seeing results, he has Dr. Rodriquez (which speaks for itself), and you’ve had him to some of the finest facilities in the country (Ruby Memorial, Atlanta, Kessler, your home). But I truly believe that it is the abundance of prayer that is making Ryan stronger and healthier. God hears our prayers, for sure!

Thank God I Know God is gonna make a Miracle out of this to show everyone His Works! Reading this just now i am glad to see that hes having better days. I know in the past with the storming with temp, BP and pulse that it was rough for Him. I Pray Everyday that God Puts His Sheltering Arms Around Ryan and Shows A Miracle. I am so glad that you keep us all updated on Ryan when a persons having a bad day seems that you are one that can lift our spirits. Thank God for Ken for Helping us get through each day with His uplifting Blog on here before i know it was upsetting to what Ryan had to go through because of Cruel People out there but with His Family and God He will will be a Miracle!

God bless you, Ken. I think the new diet you and Sue have put Ryan on is doing something — I really do — in addition to all the other wonderful things you and Sue have been doing to help Ryan recover. I can see in the pictures of Ryan where sometimes he seems more alert — I can see it in his eyes. You and Sue take such extraordinary care of him. Hugs from me to you & Sue, Ryan and Kari. I hope your day continues to go well, and always remember each one of you is in my prayers.

Ken,
That is awesome news! I do remember those rough days, those painful, intense days of storming. Although we all are not yet where we want to be with Ryan, meaning completely back with us, I am so encouraged to see where he is now. Remembering the past helps us all to take in the present and truly believe in the future. It must feel so good to ‘see’ your son. He’s coming back, Ken, I just know it.
