Ryan is scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning. As always, we are on “hospital time”, and this is akin to the cable company. Meaning it might, or might not, happen in the morning.

Still Waiting in E.R.
Ryan was given more morphine and settled down after the last dose wore off. We continue to wait in the E.R. for the orthopedic to check in. He obviously doesn’t share our urgency to get Ryan comfortably situated. I’m starting to make some noise about this, and my volume continues to rise as time passes.
Ryan to be Admitted
Ryan will be admitted and will require surgery to repair a broken femur. He will likely be in for at least a couple days to monitor. The femur is completely snapped and displaced. We will be meeting with an orthopedic to discuss specifics on whether to have a rod inserted in the bone or plates […]
Ryan Back from Imaging
Ryan just returned from x-ray. Still waiting on the slides to be reviewed, but overheard some chatter that he might need admitted for monitoring. As much as I hate this, I tend to agree if they do. We would use this as a chance to get every test we can imaging run on him.
Some More Information
During a session of therapy, Ryan’s upper-right leg left go with an audible crack. He immediately showed severe pain. When I looked, his leg was unnaturally bent and his foot was flopped over to the outside. No official word, but I suspect a complete break (non-union) of his femur.
