We Got This!

"I tell him I tried. I tried to keep memory alive; I tried to fight those who would forget. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. There is so much injustice & suffering crying out for our attention. We must take sides. We must interfere. -E.W.

Annual WVU 5K Race: April 9

March 31, 2016 by Ryan's Rally LLC 14 Comments

The Mountaineer Maniacs (which Ryan was a member) are hosting their 4th Annual 5K Walk/Run on next Saturday morning, April 9 on the WVU campus.

I have every intention of being there for the event, provided we have nursing coverage and all is well with Ryan. I also heard from Frank Fumich (who rode across the country last June to raise money for Ryan) and he said he might try to make it as well.

The 4th Annual Ryan's Rally 5K will take place next weekend.

I was really bummed to have missed this. Has there been any thought to having a 5k in the DC area? I have no experience planning a 5k, but would be more than happy to help with the planning if there’s any support for the idea. I think this area would have a great turnout given the proximity to the Diviney’s home.

I’m more of a leisurely walker than a runner… is this 5k real competetive, or would it be cool to show up and just walk… I don’t want to be the only walker!

Walking is common for this 5K. In fact, walkers start a few minutes after the runners.

Thinking of you and your family. I know the financial burden with a TBI. It’s on going. You’re in my heart.

So wonderful to see the ongoing support through the WVU community. I, too, hope you’ll go and this annual event successfully provides much needed financial support. Ryan and Ken are inspiration to so many. A bittersweet legacy.

What a joy to hear your “voice” today, Ken! Presume Frank will set up a Go Fund Me or some such way to donate. I hope you will be possible for you to attend. Keeping that thought!

Frank would just participate. He isn’t connected with the event otherwise.
