Sue dedicated this past weekend Sue to our annual Holiday Card mailing. It kicked-off Saturday night when a group of women — known as “Sue’s Crew” — came to our home and helped address the cards. Their help made our wish to thank those who helped us possible. When the night ended, some five-hundred cards were ready. These will be taken to the Post Office today (or tomorrow) where we’ll have them batch-run postage and send them on their way.ย
By the way, Sue and I are paying for the postage from our own money (and never thinking of touching Ryan’s Special Needs Trust Fund). It’s a very small price for thanking you and we’re excited to do it!
Sue was up early and spent Sunday addressing even more cards (roughly two-hundred more) and cleaning up our mailing list database. I helped, when I could, scouring the internet for addresses.
I estimate, when all’s said and done, we’ll send all the one-thousand cards we ordered. The wonderful thing is, we can always order more if we need. It only takes three or four days for these to be in our mailbox.
All-in-all, I feel we did quite well. Much better than last year, that’s for darn sure. Still, we know there are many people who won’t get a card who deserve one because we couldn’t track down their address. This bothers me greatly. Also, about half-a-dozen people will get two cards because we had them accidentally listed twice. I guess if we must make mistakes, it better to error on the side of over delivering.
There’s still a little time left to get our Holiday Card mailing. If you helped Ryan, or my family, please include yourself. It means a lot to us. Sure, we might already have your information, but it never hurts to make sure. Just click on the “Mailing List” button and take a few seconds to enter your information. Duke. The Party Animal!
Now I know it’s been a while since I put out a photograph of a Team Diviney fan favorite, Duke (Ryan’s Dog). My apologies. Hopefully, it was worth the wait though.
I snapped this picture of him (right) when he jumped up into Sue’s chair on Saturday night. It actually looks like he’s enjoying a cold one! Before I start getting hate mail from animal lovers — and beer lovers, for that matter — let me make it clear this is not his beer.
The reason we know that’s not his beer is because he never would drink a Corona Light without a lime.
He’s what I call “high falutin”.
Just get yourself down here, Gail, and pick up your passenger in Maryland!
Jo ,You know I would be down there in a second .Just wish it was a little closer ,but soon I hope
Ryan knows I think and pray for him all the time and also for all my “Team Diviney”and would do anything for them <3 to you all and to Sue's Crew too
It broke my heart not to be there. The kids had not felt well earlier in the week and could not risk giving anything to my favorite Ryan in the whole wide world. Know this “Sue’s crew” member was certainly there in spirit though. Much love to all of you!
“Duke,” is it? such loyalty. <3
Duke Richard! And the other sweet pup is Tucker Joseph!
Rita, you were there in spirit, as were the rest of Sue’s Crew who couldn’t attend. Duke kept a good watch high upon his perch ๐ Poor Tucker Joseph didn’t make the cut. ๐
TEAM DIVINEY…..you rock!!!! Thank you for helping this very special family ๐
Ken ,Signing and helping in spirit:) Sue’s crew is amazing ,Can I be a long distance member????Just all so wonderful .Duke looks like he’s supervising!!!!:)

Hi Ken,
Thank you for sending this beautiful card of Ryan and Kari — it is a treasure! I hope more of Team Diviney will provide their addresses so everyone can see this gorgeous card! I’m sure it will fill their hearts with joy as it did mine. It’s uplifting to see the progress Ryan is making and how good he looks.
I’m grateful to God for all the kind souls I’ve met as I’ve gotten to know your family. There are so many wonderful people in this group, I’m proud to be a part of it!! I am praying that in the coming year many more will learn about what Ryan has gone through and be willing to get involved.
Hoping you and Ryan enjoy a positive and productive day. Sending you love, hugs, and prayers.
Stay thirsty, Duke!!
XOXOXOXOXOXXOXOOXOXOXOXOXOXO
LOVE IT! and LOVE THE DIVINEY FAMILY!
With love and in prayer,
Keri, MY C.F. FRANKIE and Family
So sorry I missed out on the fun and fellowship (not to mention the Corona Light — my favorite)! The cards will be cherished by all of Team Diviney <3
Sending XOXOXOXO to you ALL!!!
Duke: The manly man! ๐
Ken, Sue and Sue’s Crew, how I wish I could have been there to help! And how I wish you could mail a “Forever Card” like the Forever Stamp, but I know that isn’t in your plan. Thank you for always thinking of us, ’cause we always think of you. Love and prayers for Ryan and his one-in-a-million family.
