We Got This!

"I tell him I tried. I tried to keep memory alive; I tried to fight those who would forget. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. There is so much injustice & suffering crying out for our attention. We must take sides. We must interfere. -E.W.

Website: Maintenance This Week

October 1, 2012 by Ryan's Rally LLC 9 Comments

Before I get to the today’s topic, I must let you know the De-Clutter for the Diviney mega, community yard sale was a huge — HUGE — success. I’m waiting on some pictures and final numbers before I recap that special day. What I won’t wait to do is thank everyone who attended and supported us. I hope you found something special at the sale or where able to organize your home by contributing to the sale. Most of all, my family thanks the countless volunteers. You need to know how much we love and appreciate everything you did for our benefit. I’ll write more on this when I write the recap.

As for today’s topic… it’s a bit boring, I suppose. It’s actually more of a notification than my usual ramblings.

On-and-off over the next week I intend to work on the website. I’m guessing I might have more time than usual when Ryan is in the hospital following his baclofen pump removal surgery (Wednesday and Thursday). The site was acting-up late last week and I only wound-up making it worse when I tried to fix it. To keep it up-and-running over the weekend ,I reverted back to an old (but familiar) design. Last night I worked through mostly returning it to its functionality before the weekend. The Home page is in sad shape and I’ll work on it sporadically throughout the day.

You might see things that seem odd, jumbled, or downright broken (like random emails in latin). Don’t worry about it being hacked. It’s just me trying different set-ups. It’s my intention to make my backend work completely transparent to you. Still, if you see something strange that doesn’t go away after several hours I’d appreciate knowing (email or FaceBook works best) so it doesn’t linger. I hope you all know, I take pride in this website. It is always my goal to make it work for you.

One thing I know I must do is create a simple form that allows people to report site problems. I didn’t realize it was acting funky last week until almost a full day later! It looked great on my end, but not on yours. I apologize for this and will find a way to make it easier for you to report these website issues. I promise.

This is probably a good time to remind people to join Ryan’s Fan Page on FaceBook. I use it to let people know about the website status, particularly when it (rarely) goes down.

The de-clutter event was amazing. It was so awesome to see so many people come out for the event. You could feel the love and support in the air. Even though I was just a shopper it was an honor to be there and feel like everyone was working together for Ryan.

This is totally unrelated to this post, but I was watching the news & learned of another beating in Morgantown & arrest of the suspect. Give you one guess where they arrested him..that’s right, Delaware.

Ha! Imagine my surprise when I found 7 or 8 emails from Ryan’s Rally. Scared me to death, thinking something was amiss over there, then really got a surprise when they were all in a language I wasn’t familiar with, I knew it had to be the website was helter-skelter. It was all O.K. Thanks for your quick reply to calm me down. 🙂

    More later, love.

Hello Ken, indeed, the Declutter for Diviney group did a spectacular job with this year’s event. And just like last year, it was so much fun!! I watched for a while as people came out with armfuls of bargains. Lots of nice furniture and art was purchased, along with exercise equipment, bikes, clothing and the list goes on.

People were so happy, and I know it was because not only were they getting fantastic deals, but they knew they were supporting a determined, courageous, wonderful young man.

Ryan — we’ll always go the distance for you.

    Love & prayers, hugs
    Paula
