We Got This!

"I tell him I tried. I tried to keep memory alive; I tried to fight those who would forget. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. There is so much injustice & suffering crying out for our attention. We must take sides. We must interfere. -E.W.

In ICU as Precautionary

January 28, 2012 by Ryan's Rally LLC 10 Comments

Ryan just left recovery and appears to be doing well. He is noticeably more comfortable.

We all agreed that he should be monitored in the ICU, as opposed to the surgical floor. The main reason is he had a breathing tube in place during the surgery and this puts him at significant risk for pneumonia.

Especially give that we know he has a bacteria — called pseudomonas — that is forever colonized in his respiratory system. Many people, especially those in healthcare, harbor this.

Fantastic news. I’m praying he gets home fast. Make sure all precautions are maintained so Ryan doesn’t pick up any hospital infection. If you have to be a pain in the arse about this so be it. Take care Ryan.

Hoping and praying that there won’t be even the tiniest complication as Ryan heals. Our thoughts are with you as you go through yet another ordeal with your beloved son! We love Ryan, too, and we are with you in spirit. We hope it helps to know how many of us support Ryan and his family. We are: Ryan’s Rally!

Very happy to hear the surgery went well and that he is in the ICU. Try to get some rest, I know it must be easier said than done. Hugs to all the Divineys.

Make sure the staff is washing, sanitizing those hands and wearing masks to prevent Ryan from getting anything! He’s the one at risk….not anyone else!
    Prayers and many blessings!!

    Hello Ken,

Praying Ryan will continue with a smooth recovery. I’m thankful his pain is subsiding and that he seems more comfortable. I’m so proud of him, Ken. And Kari, too — what a strong and compassionate sister, daughter and friend she is!!

Thank you for the updates, and I will continue praying Ryan is able to be moved to a regular room and return home in the next couple days. Thank the Lord that surgery is over, and that Ryan had an excellent surgeon.

I’ll keep checking in to see how things are going.
    Love, hugs, prayers continuing
    Paula

My heart is so heavy since yesterday – it seems that you and Ryan have certainly been through enough. I hope he is resting comfortably and returns home soon. My prayers continue.
