We Got This!

"I tell him I tried. I tried to keep memory alive; I tried to fight those who would forget. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. There is so much injustice & suffering crying out for our attention. We must take sides. We must interfere. -E.W.

Ryan Moved to Surgical Floor

January 27, 2012 by Ryan's Rally LLC 10 Comments

It took seven hours (no, I’m not kidding) but Ryan is now moved to his room on the surgical floor. He seems to be doing well with the pain medications.

We we’re told he will go out for surgery at 7:30 in the morning.

Hi Ken, so glad to hear Ryan will be having his surgery early, and that you all are finally settled into a room. What a long day.

I heard that for some reason the hospital has been exceptionally busy this week. I’m grateful a surgical suite is available and that Ryan’s case is being given priority.

Praying for the surgeon, nurses, and all staff associated with providing care for Ryan before/during/after surgery.

I don’t know how you and Sue will get any sleep in a hospital, but I guess sheer exhaustion may take over. Thinking of you all and will be waiting to hear more tomorrow morning sometime.
    Love,
    Paula

Glad to hear you have a time! Prob your long wait was they were waiting for beds to open up on the surgical floor (used to work on a crazy med/surgical floor). Still when I had issues come up with Ben the nurse/wife/caregiver came out in me! Hopefully they take very good care of you…you don’t need to be worried about anything else!
Did they bring up giving him an epidural? We would get patients that got them with hip surgeries and other major bone and it help their pain so much better! Better to have that then be loaded with pain meds that would only sedate Ryan. Just a thought!
    Many prayers coming to you!!

Thank God! At least, hopefully, you have a place to sit! Keep them on the ball with the morphine. Just a tad more is much better than a tad less! Love

Good to keep him pain-free, but be careful with the morphine; a little too much and you itch all over! I found that out the hard way after my last c-section!
