We Got This!

"I tell him I tried. I tried to keep memory alive; I tried to fight those who would forget. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. There is so much injustice & suffering crying out for our attention. We must take sides. We must interfere. -E.W.

Morgantown, Kari Needs Recommendation

October 28, 2011 by Ryan's Rally LLC 12 Comments

Kari called me the other night and said “the car is smoking”. I asked her where it picked up that habit. She didn’t find it funny. Anyhow, after verbally going through diagnostics, it was clear she was low on antifreeze. I coached her through how to add it and told her if it happened again, it needs to be repaired.

I didn’t think to ask the most basic question, “Did an alert light-up on the dashboard?”. I guess I thought she would have told me. Turns out, it did and was very specific… Check Coolant Level. Daughters!

So, it happened again.

I’d like people of Morgantown to guide me in a place she can take it for honest service since its probably just an inexpensive hose. Any suggestions are sincerely appreciated.

    J & J Towing & Repair
311 Riverside Avenue, Morgantown, WV 26501
    (304) 292-9797

Used them when my car was giving me issues last year while I was a student in Morgantown. They were awesome with getting the parts I needed, giving me a good deal, and doing the work fast. I broke down on a thursday and needed my car for work on saturday, they fixed me up and even stayed around late on friday evening to get me my car with no extra charge. My Dad actually set it all up for me and their were good about communicating with him and me to make sure the prices and the work being done were fair.

My son had his radiator replaced by Shorty along with a few other maintenance issues over the years. He was very reliable and honest and allowed us to pay him by credit card over the phone.

Good suggestions offered by the group. Let’s be thankful the problem showed up when it did, and not while traveling on the highway. Hope Ryan is doing well and also hoping our Mountaineers have better luck this Saturday. We’re praying for Ryan and God bless you.

Angela says she just takes her car to Walmart. I have heard that they have good mechanics. AAA, good idea — free towing — and she is covered even when she is riding with another driver, and it pays for itself in AAA discounts.

My son had an issue with his car (cannot remember what the problem was) and he was towed to Walmart. We had AAA (triple A) on our cars when the kids were attending college. It really came in handy!

Shorty Anderson (up falling run rd from downtown campus) or south park Exxon (across pleasant street bridge downtown). Both have been excellent to us – they don’t look for things that aren’t broken. And fairly priced and honest. I take my cars to either w/o a second thought.

Be sure to have Kari ask if “whom” ever she takes it to gives students a discount. My daughter attends Longwood and a local shop there gives students a 10% discount (and they do a great job). I realize WV & LU aren’t close, it’s just a thought. Good Luck and I hope its a simple fix.

Shorty Anderson’s. He is reasonable and several people I work with take their cars to him.
