"I tell him I tried. I tried to keep memory alive; I tried to fight those who would forget. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. There is so much injustice & suffering crying out for our attention. We must take sides. We must interfere. -E.W.

What’s the point of even doing this? Isn’t he due to be released within the next year anyway?
Peggie says
OMG…..
Jen says
Good luck with that, Austin (sarcasm). Your actions since going to prison have assured everyone you are still as big of a thug as the day you attacked Ryan. Except for maybe your immediate family, no one wants you out. Don’t get your hopes up.
Anna says
A new trial will not change the facts that Austin Vantrease kicked another human being in the head while he lay on the ground defenseless and unconscious. And, his friends stood around and watched. How sad for him and them. A memory they can not erase that should haunt them till their death.
Scott says
If he indeed is granted a new trial, then sweet justice would be that it backfires on him and ends with a stiffer sentence.
Evelyn Boxley says
thoughts are with you, will be praying and hoping.
Paula says
Go ahead, Van T — have another trial. Nothing’s changed, though — you are still as guilty today as the night you malevolently attacked Ryan.
You might consider helping the Diviney family rather than trying to escape the guilty verdict you were given. For once could you just do the right thing.
Carla Liberty says
On what grounds? That the Phillies don’t really suck? I’ll be shocked (and angry) if they grant him a new trial. SHSP NGA!
Kathryn Beggs Howlett says
OK…..hard to wait…..sending out positive, loving thoughts to the Diviney’s.
Gail Doyle says
Ken , Will check and hope Gail
