We Got This!

"I tell him I tried. I tried to keep memory alive; I tried to fight those who would forget. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. There is so much injustice & suffering crying out for our attention. We must take sides. We must interfere. -E.W.

25th Wedding Anniversary

July 12, 2011 by Ryan's Rally LLC 25 Comments

I’ll just let the pictures speak for themselves. One thing needing mentioned is Sue is wearing the gown her mother was wed in, some 25-plus years prior. Meanwhile, I had a rental.

At that time, I was Ryan’s age (just a few months older) and Sue was Kari’s age.

Giving the bride away.

With this ring, I do thee wed.

Our first introduction as Mr. & Mrs. Diviney.

On a whim, I led the party through the drive-thru.

Heading in to the reception

Wedding Party Table

This looks fun, but...

This is more fun. A sign of things to come?

We have a ton more pictures, but I just pulled out a few. The reception was off-the-hook. I guess the best way to sum it up is by the time is was over dentures had to be fished out of a toilet.

Happy Anniversary Ken and Sue! I agree with the other gals, Sue….you literally look EXACTLY the same. What is your secret? And Ken….how I would’ve loved to have been in that Burger King when the bridal party rode through…..I can just picture the guys in their hats and possibly cigars????

OK quiz question: Your first song/dance?

The pictures were beautiful, a true reflection of the times and the expressions of never-ending love. Ken you look so much like Ryan does. He is truly your son. Sue, could you please explain why you look EXACTLY like you did back then. I want some of whatever your doing to look so beautiful. I wish you both only the most amazing next 25 years of life together. As you travel this journey with Ryan we will be your “attendants” right by your side. Much love to you both~

(Using my best Pittsburghese voice) “Happy silver anniversary, yinz guys!”….I remember your wedding and reception like it was yesterday and I can’t believe it was a quarter of a century ago. Dude, we’re getting old (but at least we ditched the mullets and and lookin’ studly now!).

I remember when you and Sue first met and I knew shortly that you had met your match and that you were destined to marry her. I was thrilled for you then and I’m even more thrilled for you now. Congrats. Hope to see you in a couple weeks at the conclusion of the Ride For Ryan!

I distinctly remember you (sitting next to Mark Ogerchuck) calling for a toast by trying to clink a plastic cup with a plastic knife. It was hilarious!

What great pictures and memories — thank you for sharing them on such a special milestone day. And what a fun reception you must’ve had. We want details! In exchange, I’ll share a few stories from our wedding 25 years ago this December. We were very young too, but not quite as young as you and Sue. Happy Anniversary to a beautiful, loving couple still young at heart with each other <3

Happy 25th! I enjoyed the photos. You and your wife really did just get better with age. I kinda like the slight 80’s mullet, though.

When you said “for better or for worse, in sickness and in health” I am pretty sure that you could never in a zillion years have imagined where the journey would take you. You are an awesome testament to the real power of love and meaning of commitment. Very best wishes on your 25th anniversary!
