Events
Communities have been putting together some incredible events to raise money for Ryan’s care. I’m not joking in the least when I tell you it amazes me. Everything people are doing is helping so much.
I’m not sure how we’d gotten along without the meals coming to us. They provide us with time (and their insanely delicious) that would otherwise be diverted away from Ryan. And, right now, we need time.
Please take a moment to see if any of the events are something you’d like to attend. There’s a golf tournament, a yard sale, a contribution for beauty care, a Morgantown dinner, and a rotary dinner. Others are close to finalizing other events, like dinner night at Buffalo Wing Factory and car washes.
Every penny raised will go toward Ryan’s care. In fact, I was talking to someone the other day about this. I literally have not bought a single non-essential thing for myself. I simply can’t, otherwise I’m sure I’d feel guilty. Without a job now, it is my way of financially contributing.
Anyhow, enough about me bragging about being some self-proclaimed martyr or monk. You can view the Events page by clicking here. It will open in a new window.
Kari
I must admit, I was impressed. Kari made it home just before 1:00 PM on Friday. True to form, she came like a whirlwind into the house. It was a fiasco. The dogs went crazy! They wouldn’t leave her side all day or night.
Sue told Kari her “treat”. She is taking her to New York City this week for two nights. Sue will be there on business and Kari loves that city. A perfect match, and not expensive at that.

It’s amazing how much energy Kari has brought into your home. I beleive Ryan senses it too. I think it’s wonderful she gets to go with her Mom on a trip. We are praying for your family. God bless you.

Ken,
Now that I have signed up to bring meals….I hope you do not change your mind about the “delicious” part! LOL
Hey… I have loaded my Murano TWICE and taken loads to drop off! I have to work til 4:00 today…I have my car full right now! I wanted to get there while the High School students may be helping unload 🙁 If they are, they are only there til 2:00. If someone wants to come get my car, it’s ready to go, but I am stuck here!! 🙂

Dear Ken. Just so great there are so many fund raisers going on for Ryan. If I was closer , I would be at every one ,except I don’t play golf……Maybe I’ll try to make one ,I hope. I know all of the monies raised can help Ryan get the best care possible and the newest and latest…..So glad for you there are such wonderful people in Ashburn to help out in your need..I can help with donations ,but wish I could be there hands on …..There are many people all over willing to help out in some way too. Thank God.. Glad to hear Kari will be spending time in NY with Sue ,know you’ll miss them. But only couple of days right? Have a good day to Ryan and you all. Gail

Oh the whirlwind of daughters!! Know it well, ours is leaving to go back to school tomorrow. The excitement, chaos, and drama they bring into a household is amazing, but I wouldn’t want it any other way!! Something about NYC and young girls. Lizzie loves NYC also, the excitement, the lure, the people, so different than the quiet of the suburban home street. Have a GREAT time Kari and Sue in NYC. Just the train ride there is fun. One time we took a train to NYC and there were two young girls traveling with their father, the girls got out at every stop and did a cartwheel. They wanted to be able to say they were in that city and state. They were so cute and made our trip fun. You girls have fun… and boys… while the cats away the mice will play, bring on the videos and cigars!!

Ken,
I understand not spending money. There is a heavy financial, emotional, and physical price paid to take care of our loved one, which we freely give, but it is difficult none the less. How blessed your family is by the people who have come along side you and stayed there. How lovely Kari and Sue get to go to NY together. Fabulous! BTW, I hit the link to the opportunities but it took me to a site needing a password.
