Well, it’s not like I wouldn’t have seen it coming. I depart in the wee morning hours and arrive in Morgantown well before noon. I send a text to my daughter to let me know when she’s ready to meet up.
It’s now noon. Not a word from her. Just like my daughter. ๐
No matter. I was able to check-in to the hotel early. Take a shower. Brush my teeth. Pad around the lobby. Read the front desk brochures. Take another shower. A bit more padding hither and yon. Update this blog. Momentarily consider stealing the robe. Think better of it. But, the soap and shampoo are mine! I might just take the pen too.
I’m really looking forward to being with Kari. We have no formal plans, and that suits us fine. I starving, so the first order of business will be lunch. I’d like to take her shopping. As an added bonus I’ll get to spend some time with her friends, who many are Ryan’s friends. Have I mentioned my children do an amazing job surrounding themselves with the right people?

Daddy/daughter time is so special. Many of our Ashburn friends are attending the Girl Scout father/daughter sweetheart dance tonight. I remember reading a cool book by John Eldredge which reminded me that women desire to be cherished, and I am so glad my husband stepped up to that with my daughter (who is 9). I am so glad that the precious bond continues into college! You certainly demonstrate your love every day for both of your children, I am so happy that you get to take some time today to CHERISH Kari. Enjoy every moment.

Ken, You remind me of my husband with your wonderful devotion to Ryan. My Husband Bob was just like you with our son Jeff. I sent Sue my book, Jeff’s courage.
Remember to take time for yourself and the same for Sue, it renews your strength and patience. Bob and I tried to do dinner out when we could. It’s amazing how a few hours of R & R will make you feel like a new person. We are all human and need rest and time to reflect. Hugs to Ryan and my best to you and Sue. Your family is in my prayers. Ken I hope you enjoy your time in Morgantown with Kari. These young kids love to sleep don’t they? Sounds like my daughter who is 18. If she gets up before noon on a Saturday I am amazed. But I know Kari has not been feeling well and was probably extra tired from that ear infection.

Sleep is a good thing, especially at college, and more especially when you’re not feeling well. Having nothing to do for a few hours for someone as overworked as you is also a good thing! Enjoy every bit of your down time and daddy-daughter time ๐ You and Sue definitely did all the right things in raising Ryan and Kari, and there’s obviously no stopping you now!

Ken, I hope you and Kari really enjoy your time together, and that the weather stays decent. Cheryl is right, the kids learn from us about the kind of people they should spend their time with — and as she said, you and Sue have taught your children well. Praying for a wonderful time for you both, and we are here if Sue needs us. May the Lord bless you and surround your family with His peace. Love & prayers, as always, Paula

I’m sure they surround themselves with the right people, because they have been taught that by you and Sue, nice work! I try to instill the same in my own children each and everyday.
Enjoy Ken!!! (I hope Kari wakes up soon…lol)
