We Got This!

"I tell him I tried. I tried to keep memory alive; I tried to fight those who would forget. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. There is so much injustice & suffering crying out for our attention. We must take sides. We must interfere. -E.W.

ICU: Day 11. Sunday Discharge Expected.

December 31, 2010 by Ryan's Rally LLC 12 Comments

Yesterday was clearly Ryan’s best day in weeks. Sue watched him while I did my best to catch up on sleep in the recliner in his room.

A common sight.

At roughly 7:00 PM last night, the tube feed rate increased from 40 ml to 70 ml. Ryan is now getting his complete nutrition.

Earlier this morning Ryan had an entire series of labs, tests, and images. His blood work came back mostly good. The chest x-ray showed improvement. He is still on target for weekend discharge. It now sounds like it will happen on Sunday, assuming no issues.

Alecia, if you look very closely you can kind of see Sue is wearing a yellow “isolation gown”. I expect they keep Ryan in isolation until discharge.

I noticed no scrubs? Does that mean that bacteria is gone?! How wonderful if so! How wonderful regardless; you have some great news with the feedings, tests and upcoming discharge. I pray that Ryan continues to keep fighting on so you have your sweet son home with you soon.

Hope for a Sunday discharge! Everyone will be so much better off and more comfortable in your own home, but thank God for a hospital with a qualified staff like Loudon. I feel sure they took good care of all of you. Love and prayers for continued recovery, Ryan.
